Inspections & Surveys
Client: Various
Role: Inspection of Key Assets
BDPSP has been able to support its Clients with their inspections & surveys enabling them to meet regulatory requirements, maintain key assets and manage budgets. We can complete general inspections of pavement and facilities, pre-construction and post construction inspections and bespoke solutions for our Clients – this year, we completed an internal flue survey using remote cameras to minimize the need to access a confined space. Below are some examples of inspections that we have completed. As part of our maintenance inspections, we provide:
Review of client requirements
Development of scope document to demonstrate understanding
Summary report detailing findings
Budget summary detailing anticipated 12 month costs
Photographs and updated drawings as required
With our industry experience, we can make recommendations of specialist contractors to deliver any required maintenance, and assist in managing delivery if required.
Drone Surveys
We were asked by our Client to investigate a leak in the roof of a Hangar, to enable a maintenance plan to be established. We commissioned Bluesky UAV to complete an inspection of the roof with a drone, reducing the need for persons to work at height. The survey identified an issue which was then able to be resolved by our Client. The use of drones is more prominent in inspections and has real benefits in delivering efficient inspections.
Tier 3 Airfield Inspections
BDPSP is able to offer airfield inspections to Tier 3 standard, offering an independent check of the condition of the pavement in accordance with regulatory requirements. We have completed pavement inspections to Tier 3 standard at Cambridge Airport, Leeds Bradford, Glasgow Prestwick, Ronaldsway and London Southend Airport. Each inspection is completed out of working hours and incorporates all manoeuvring areas, aprons and grass used for aircraft. The outcome is a list of recommendations, budget and map showing the pavement condition enabling the airport to plan its maintenance programme for that year. In addition, we can undertake more regular monthly inspections to Tie 1 standard if required.
Asset Surveys
We worked with our customer to assist with developing a maintenance regime for a water attenuation pond. This included listing all of the assets, developing a maintenance manual, and recommendations for maintenance to enable continued operations. BDPSP undertook the first routine inspection enabling a maintenance budget to be established for that period.
